Anderson is now 12 lbs 4 oz
Anderson went to have his checkout on Friday. He weighed in at 12 lbs and 4 oz. He took three shots and something else... Miranda took him.
Then mommy got sick and I was taking care of him yesterday and today. I woke up and fed him three times last night. I guess I can appreciate Miranda a little better now... She is better now and I think she will take over tonight..

A Night Out....
We went out and celebrated Anderson's "one month old" tonight in Red Lobster. After being confined to home for a month (sort of), Miranda and all of us went to pig-out. We also took the opportunity to take Miranda's parents out for some nice dinner. We appreciated their help so much for the past month. We don't know what we would do without them. Anderson actually slept through the dinner... (what a good boy :) !) So far, he looks as good as Amanda when Amanda was a baby.... Could we be this lucky? :)

Anderson is coming home...
Miranda went to feed Anderson this morning in the hospital. The doctors told her that they have done all the tests and he has the clearance to come home this afternoon.
We will pick him up later today after his late afternoon feeding. We are all very excited and looking forward to Anderson coming home. But, we are also very nervous since this is all new to us again. After all it has been more than eleven years since we took care of an infant .... and he is so tiny and fragile. So, any parenting advice would be welcomed.... and appreciated..
I think Amanda is the most excited one. I think she is excited to be a Big Sister and looking forward to seeing her brother home. Look at her message on MSN that she had on yesterday.....

Day Seven - Anderson taking a bath...
The nurse basically only wiping him down with warm water and soap with paper towels since the cloth is consider too rough. He does not like the bath itself. He was crying and kicking all the way. But, as soon as the nurse started to shampoo his hair, he mellowed down and seemed to enjoy it.
After shower, mommy changed him and dressed him with regular clothing. He is no longer in the incubator so he cannot be naked anymore. Then Miranda fed him and held him...
He is doing better everyday and should be coming home in the next day or two.... It is late, so I will post pictures tomorrow, or rather later on today...

Day Six - Amanda held her little brother..
He is off the the photo therapy today, they will test him tomorrow morning to make sure that he does not need to be back on...
The Big Sister finally held her little brother this morning..... (she does not like to be called chicken out....)
Mommy is trying to get a hang of feeding him after eleven years...
The nurses are trying to teach us (daddy, mommy as well as big sister....) how to change diapers,
Met the other Grandma.... the Auntie conveniently took Grandpa with her.....
We are running back and forth the hospital today delivering breast milk and of course seeing him....
We sat through a video on Infant CPR tonight, two more videos to go.... (required for infant in NICU)
Miranda has a two-hour class to attend tomorrow to teach the basics for infants in the NICU...

Anderson has arrived....
This is the Fourth Day..... Anderson is off the oxygen tonight and he is breathing on his own. However, oxygen is always ready just in case he needs it.
He is drinking mommy's milk, yes, mommy's milk, both orally as well as through the feeding tube. We were all pleasantly shocked that Miranda has breast milk and she is pumping them religiously every three hours for Anderson. We really don't know how long she can provide milk because once he is back to her regular medication, her milk may not be consumable. Anderson is now drinking close to an ounce every three hours.
The nurses in the NICU like his progress so far... He pees and poops normally and he can digest the food normally as well....
Miranda is doing well and should be discharged tomorrow....
Also, tomorrow Amanda is ready to meet her little brother. We submitted the immunization papers today because they will not like children under the age of 12 in the NICU without proof of immunization....

Day Three. They have reduced the extra oxygen for Anderson because he has managed to breath on his own some of the time... They also started feeding him through the tube.... starting at 5cc every six hours this morning.. and now he is at 8cc every three hours.... tonight the nurse told me that he pooped, which is a very good thing... Mommy is doing very well, up and running already... Amanda is anxiously waiting to see her brother on Saturday..
*************************************************************************************
This is Day Two. Miranda is feeling better today and she visited with Anderson the first time this morning in the NICU. She held him for the whole time while she was there. Anderson is also doing better today, and the nurse said they will probably start feeding him tomorrow.

Anderson's First Night in the NICU...
*************************************************************************************
Anderson has arrived via Express Delivery this afternoon at 1:43PM :) He weighs in at 5 pounds 9 ounces and measures 18 inches. He is only 36 weeks and is a little premature. His lungs are not fully developed yet and the doctor had put him on the incubator for a week to 10 days. So far the mother and the baby are doing well. Thank you for your prayers and please continue to keep us in your prayers...
